2004, when the Missouri Association of County Surveyors embedded the new plaque in the ground on the actual three-state spot (about 50 ft east of the original marker). I read however, this marker didn't mark the actual spot. The original marker was built at the spot in 1938 by the National Youth Administration. The original cairn marker (sadly the plaques are missing on this original marker) and the new, in the ground 'stand here' marker with the three states on the face of it.
No welcome center or facilities of any kind, however you are right down the street form the casino. Sharp left at SE 118th St/S 700 Rd/Stateline Rd.Įven though it is accessible 24/7, there is no lightning, so I wouldn't recommend going at night. Take exit 1 for US-400 W/US-166 W toward Baxter Springs/Kansas. Marker is located at the end of the semi-rough, gravel/dirt road (about ½ mile down). Street is marked with a normal street sign (see photo). Relatively easy to find, as it's right down the street from the Downstream Casino entrance. You can find it on the Google Maps Ap: Kansas Oklahoma and Missouri Tri-state Marker, but I could not find it on regular Maps. Besides, it's something fun you can brag about to your friends and a cool photo op! I wanted to come here because I've been to 4 corners and I love uncommon landmarks like this.
